University of California, Merced invites applications for Associate Instructor in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. Position title: Associate Instructor
Salary range: See Table 19 for the salary range for this position. Salary is normally based on an annual full-time salary at Salary Point 6 of $85,898; see Table 19 for the full range of salary points. Associate Instructors will not be appointed for more than 50% time during the Fall & Spring semesters.
Percent time: 25.00% to 50.00%
Anticipated start: Fall 2026 - August 19, 2026; Spring 2027 - January 1, 2027
Position duration: Duration may be up to one semester.
The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts anticipates hiring Associate Instructors for lower- and upper-division courses for Academic Year 2026-2027 in the following disciplines: Cognitive and Informational Sciences.
The Associate Instructors will be responsible for grading, attending lectures, leading discussion sections when appropriate, and holding office hours.
