The Gygi lab in the Department of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School is seeking an Associate. Responsibilities include training in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, conducting independent research aimed at publishing work in the interactome pipeline.
The Associate will choose an independent project, interact with other labs in the department, and may collaborate with hospital labs. This role is a stepping stone toward graduate or medical school in protein‑protein interactions research.

Associate will select their own independent research project. For more than 8 years, the lab has been systematically collecting protein-protein interaction data. There are many thousands of human genes for which we now have some idea about its biological role. This individual will create a research plan around illuminating the function of a human gene where little to nothing was previously known about its role in human health and disease.
This position will also interact with other labs in the Department of Cell Biology depending on the research project selected. There is the possibility to work with hospital labs if their expertise in the subject area is needed.
This position is a stepping stone for those interested in being trained for future work in graduate or medical school in the area of protein-protein interactions work.
