Compliance Management International (CMI) seeks an Associate Health and Safety Specialist to lead and deliver safety training, assess site hazards, and help clients implement core programs. Bachelor's degree in OH&S preferred; certifications such as CSP/ASP/CHST/CSHO are desirable. The position emphasizes training in classroom and virtual settings, risk mitigation, and reporting.

Qualifications

• OSHA 501 – Trainer for General Industry preferred.

• Current First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs in classroom or virtual formats.
• Assist clients with development, implementation, and maintenance of core safety programs (Emergency Action Plans, Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, PPE, Bloodborne Pathogens).
• Perform hazard assessments and site inspections; generate written reports with corrective actions.
• Coordinate and manage training schedules and consulting engagements.
• Complete internal administrative tasks including time tracking, expense reporting, and documentation.

Associate Health and Safety Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs including:
  • HAZWOPER 8-hour and 24-hour
  • OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour (General Industry)
  • NFPA 70E Arc Flash
  • Safety Leadership
  • Conduct training in-person, via webinars, or through Learning Management Systems (LMS), including development of site-specific content.
• Assist clients with the development, implementation, and maintenance of core safety programs such as:
  • Emergency Action Plans
  • Lockout/Tagout
  • Hazard Communication
  • PPE
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
• Perform hazard assessments and site inspections; generate written reports with corrective actions and recommendations.
• Coordinate and manage training schedules and consulting engagements in alignment with client proposals.
• Ensure timely completion of internal administrative tasks including time tracking, expense reporting, and documentation.

Experience Required

• 5–10 years of direct experience in the safety profession, with a strong emphasis on training, hazard identification, and program development.
• Proven experience delivering safety training in both classroom and virtual environments.
• Demonstrated ability to assess site‑specific hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Customer‑focused approach with strong relationship‑building capabilities.
• Previous consulting experience preferred.

Certifications & Credentials

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field (preferred)
• OSHA 501 – Trainer for General Industry (preferred)
• Recognized safety credentials such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or CSHO are highly desirable.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and conduct training or site inspections for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in industrial, construction, or field environments when needed.
• Capable of lifting training materials and equipment (up to 30 lbs).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally up to 40% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.
