Job summary

Leviton in Melville, NY is seeking an Associate Hardware Product Manager to support up to three electromechanical product lines, perform new product launch activities, and handle legacy sustaining tasks. You will provide input to leadership for roadmap planning and help with profitability analyses and cross-functional collaboration.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical/business field and 1–3 years of technical/operations experience, with evse knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in Business Administration, Engineering or related technical/business field.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a technical field with business operations understanding.
  • Background in automotive industry with EVSE knowledge a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle or related ERP platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with regulatory or standards organizations such as UL, CSA and NOM is a plus.

  • Conduct market, technology, and competitive assessments.
  • Assist with establishing product vision and defining the product roadmap for electromechanical products.
  • Examine product line performance and provide recommendations to management.
  • Develop business proposals.
  • Manage deliverables for Phase/Gate product development.
  • Assist with product pricing and gross margins.
  • Coordinate product launches.
  • Support marketing materials development.
  • Create product forecasts and establish inventory levels.
  • Coordinate support function activities to sustain product lines.
  • Assist Sales channels to make product lines successful.
  • Develop training materials for the value chain.
  • Manage all web activities for assigned product lines.
  • Act as the technical go-to person for assigned product lines.
  • Assist with developing product line strategies.
  • Support deliverables for Phase/Gate development.

About the role

The Associate Hardware Product Manager provides support of up to three electromechanical product lines and executes tactical steps in support of product categories. This includes new product launch activities and legacy product sustaining tasks, inclusive of basic technical support of sales, Customer Service and other departments. This position will provide input to leadership for roadmap planning and learn critical thinking skills required for successful strategic decision making for hardware product line growth and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct market, technology, and competitive assessments
  • Assist with establishing product vision and defining the product roadmap for electromechanical products
  • Examine and analyze product line performance such as profitability, forecasts, inventory levels, etc. and provide recommendations to management
  • Develop Business Proposals
  • Manage applicable deliverables for Phase/Gate product development process
  • Assist with establishing product pricing and assessing product costs and gross margins
  • Coordinate product launches
  • Recommend marketing materials and assist with their development
  • Create product forecasts and coordinate to establish appropriate inventory levels
  • Coordinate support function activities to sustain product line
  • Support Sales channels as needed to make assigned product lines successful
  • Assist in the development of appropriate training materials for the value chain
  • Manage all web related activities for assigned product lines
  • Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Director
  • Act as the technical "go-to" person for assigned product lines
  • Assist with the development of product line strategies
  • Support all applicable deliverables for Phase/Gate product development process
Qualifications
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate effective presentations to groups of employees and managers
  • Must have the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with customers that lead to the sale of assigned hardware products
  • Must have the ability to organize teams to support the development of business opportunities
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists
  • Must have the ability to work in a highly confidential work environment
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and computer skills
  • Knowledge of electromechanical product design capabilities
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, in Business Administration, Engineering or related technical/business field
  • 1-3 years' experience in a technical field with business operations understanding. Experience with manufacturing operations processes a plus
  • Background in automotive industry with working knowledge of EVSE, including automotive manufacturers and terminology is a plus
  • Experience with Oracle or related ERP platforms is a plus
  • Experience with regulatory or standards organizations, such as UL, CSA and NOM a plus
