Ames Community School District in Ames, IA is seeking an Associate Girls Wrestling Coach to support the coaching staff and instruct athletes in wrestling fundamentals. The position features a 2-3 hour daily schedule (4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday) with additional nights and weekends during the season. Competitive stipend paid for the season.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization is required.
• Experience coaching at the youth, middle school, or high school level is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes on wrestling fundamentals and coach at individual, small group and team levels.
• Attend all practices and coach at various levels.
• Model sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct toward players, officials, and spectators.
• Communicate effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
• Participate in events including banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
• Follow and maintain knowledge of district policies and procedures; maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
