Pennoni in Philadelphia seeks an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support subsurface investigations and reporting. You will work both in the office and in the field, coordinating with project teams and clients to deliver quality geotechnical solutions.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering with geotech focus and 3–5 years of related experience; EIT or PE is a plus. Proficiency with AutoCAD/OpenGround is beneficial, and a valid driver's license is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate subsurface explorations and laboratory testing with project engineers and subcontractors.
• Evaluate field and laboratory data; analyze foundations, settlement, earthwork, and slope stability.
• Develop recommendations and prepare calculations and technical reports for senior-engineer review.
• Coordinate assigned tasks with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and field personnel.
• Provide geotechnical construction support, including foundation and earthwork observations and evaluation of field conditions.
• Track assigned deliverables; communicate technical issues, progress, and schedule needs.

Required Attributes

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Geotech concentration).
• 3-5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with subsurface investigations, geotechnical calculations, and technical reporting.
• Ability to work in both office and field settings.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for field assignments.

Preferred Attributes

• EIT and progress toward PE licensure.
• Experience with foundation design, settlement analysis, slope stability, and construction-phase geotechnical support.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; experience with geotechnical analysis software, AutoCAD, or Openground.
• Ability to organize concurrent assignments and communicate clearly with project teams and clients.
