Job summary

Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Associate GeoStructural Engineer to support our national practice, focusing on the Philadelphia area. You will manage technically complex projects, perform reviews of design documents, and lead multidisciplinary teams across Schnabel offices.

Ideal candidates have a PE license in PA, 15+ years of experience, and a track record of client service excellence. This role emphasizes QA, proposal development, and business development within the Philadelphia market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year program. Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical or Structural) is preferred.
• 15+ years of relevant professional experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania or ability to acquire by reciprocity
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
• Confidence and independence, with a shared sense of responsibility
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective time management and interpersonal skills
• Transportation, support of excavation, and wall design experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Detailed review and checking of construction documents including calculations, plans and specifications
• Senior project management including contract negotiation and risk management
• Review and preparation of proposals and engineering reports
• Business development focused on the Philadelphia Area
• Coordinating geostructural services with internal and external clients
• Developing strong client relationships for repeat business
• Other tasks as required to support projects and business goals
