Job summary

ThayerMahan, Inc. in Groton, CT, is hiring an Associate General Counsel to support several business units. You will deliver legal guidance on commercial and government contracts, employment law, regulatory compliance, and IP while coordinating with outside counsel as needed.

The role requires a J.D., CT bar admission or eligibility, and 1–3 years of relevant experience. A hybrid schedule is offered with regional travel to MA offices.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen due to access to Controlled Unclassified Information.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar.
• 1–3 years of relevant attorney experience.
• Licensed to practice law in Connecticut or eligible for licensure in CT.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial and government contracts, employment law, regulation compliance, and IP.
• Review and negotiate contracts and legal documents, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Develop policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance across units.
• Advise senior management on risk, contracts, and corporate governance matters.
