Job summary

ICE Mortgage Technology (IMT) in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Full Stack Developer I to help build and modernize mortgage servicing platform components. You will work on well-defined features, migrate legacy systems, and contribute to an AI-forward engineering culture that encourages using AI tools to improve coding, reviews, and testing.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, write RESTful APIs, and ensure data integrity while learning cutting-edge technologies in a supportive team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years of professional software development experience.
• Foundational knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with React, JavaScript (ES6+), and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases; PostgreSQL is a plus.
• Understanding of web application and API security principles.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack features using React on the frontend and Java/Spring Boot microservices on the backend.
• Maintain existing C#/.NET applications and MS SQL databases; assist migration to Java/Spring Boot and PostgreSQL.
• Write and maintain PostgreSQL queries and assist with schema work for performance and integrity.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs; integrate with React-based frontends.
• Implement new features and enhancements following defined standards and peer collaboration.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and team standards.
• Leverage AI to accelerate workflows like code generation, documentation, and review.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in backend and frontend with AI-assisted tools.
• Participate in code reviews and unit testing; ensure quality and coverage.
• Stay current with technologies and emerging AI/LLM capabilities.

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer I to join our innovative development team. In this role, you will contribute to building and modernizing the applications at the core of our mortgage servicing platform. You will work on well-defined features and components under the guidance of senior engineers, and be part of a team actively transitioning legacy systems to modern, scalable architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack feature development using React on the frontend and Java/Spring Boot microservices on the backend, under the guidance of senior engineers
• Maintain of existing C#/.NET applications and MS SQL databases, and assist with migration efforts to Java/Spring Boot and PostgreSQL
• Write and maintain PostgreSQL queries and assist with schema work to support application performance and data integrity
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs, adhering to data governance policies and procedures; integrate with React-based frontends
• Implement new features and enhancements to existing functionality with defined standards and peer collaboration
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and team standards
• Leverage AI as a core development tool to accelerate workflows including code generation, documentation, and code review assistance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in both backend and frontend systems, using AI-assisted tools to diagnose and resolve issues faster
• Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality, including AI-assisted test generation and coverage analysis
• Stay current with relevant technologies, frameworks, and emerging AI/LLM capabilities relevant to the tech stack
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Knowledge And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent experience
• Foundational knowledge of Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with React, JavaScript (ES6+), and/or TypeScript
• Experience with SQL and relational database concepts; exposure to PostgreSQL is a plus
• Understanding of web application and API security principles
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Comfort using AI as a daily tool across the software development lifecycle, from design through testing and deployment

Preferred Knowledge And Experience

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Knowledge of containerization concepts (Docker)
• Familiarity with microservices architecture
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
• Understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques
• Familiarity with getting the most out of AI through clear prompting and understanding its strengths and limitations in a development context
