Job summary

Morgan Stanley's Baltimore team seeks an Associate in Fixed Income Operations to support post-execution processes across securitized products, mortgage/asset backed securities, agency TBAs and corporate bonds. You will partner with trading and sales to ensure accurate trade bookings and robust controls.

Daily tasks include reconciling trading risk systems, verifying bookings with counterparties, and resolving breaks with Controllers, Settlements and Confirmations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 2-6 years of experience in the financial industry.
• Strong risk management and control mindset.
• Proficiency in Excel and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trade bookings are correctly reflected in risk systems and tied out with counterparties.
• Liaise with Trading, Sales, Brokers or Counterparties to confirm trades.
• Serve as intermediary between Trading desk and Controllers, Settlements, and Confirmations.
• Analyze and resolve issues to ensure breaks are resolved effectively and escalate when needed.
• Understand risk implications of Fixed Income operations.

We're seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in Fixed Income Operations. Our team provides operational coverage to the trading, underwriting and structuring of Fixed Income securities. This includes the trade capture, reconciliation, documentation and settlement of proprietary and liquidity transactions executed by various trading desks. The essential focus of this team is to ensure all operational risks are recognized and managed and that internal controls are complete and operating effectively.In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Associate level position level position within Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.Products supported include: Securitized Products, Mortgage and Asset Backed Securities, Agency TBA's. and Corporate Bonds. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
