Job summary

Power Design, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Systems Associate Designer at our St. Petersburg, FL headquarters.

The role focuses on reviewing original layouts and drawings, interpreting them for project requirements and code compliance, and coordinating best design solutions with customer needs and budgets. You’ll provide technical assistance across bidding, design, permitting, and construction while guiding the team and communicating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of experience with fire alarm system design.
• NICET certification and understanding of high-density, high-rise, and smoke control.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction-related field preferred.
• Knowledge of local codes and construction safety requirements (IBC/IECC) required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the best design solution by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.
• Provide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction.

About the PositionThe Fire Alarm Systems Associate Designer is the subject matter expert for fire alarm design and installation.
