Job summary

Cresset is a boutique, client‑focused multi-family office and private investment firm based in Chicago. The Associate, Financial Reporting will manage bookkeeping, general ledger entries, and monthly, quarterly, and annual client financial reporting for ultra‑high net worth individuals.

The role reports to the Managing Director, Head of Financial Reporting and requires meticulous attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to present clear, client‑ready deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience handling bookkeeping for high-net-worth families or similar private entities.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and ability to translate financial data into client-ready deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Perform bookkeeping for family entities and maintain client ledgers.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conduct bank and account reconciliations and cash reporting.
• Support financial operations related to residential holdings and acquisitions.

This role requires a strong command of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to translate financial data into clear, client-ready deliverables.This position will report directly to the Managing Director, Head of Financial Reporting.Bookkeeping & General Ledger AccountingPerform bookkeeping for family entities, which may include individuals or other related entities within QuickBooksMaintain client general ledgers, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost allocations across multiple entitiesResearch and resolve accounting discrepancies and recommend corrective entriesFinancial ReportingGenerate client reports using QuickBooks for monthly, quarterly, and annual client deliverablesPrepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedulesReconciliations & Cash ReportingPerform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of the financial recordsSupport cash management reporting, including sources and uses of cash for family members and related entitiesSupport financial operations related to residential holdings and acquisitions, including recording of related transactionsWhat We Offer:At Cresset, we focus on people first.
