Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Associate Finance to support procurement operations and supplier relationships within SAP Ariba and SAP ECC/S4 HANA.

You will create, issue and manage POs, coordinate vendor inclusion, handle PO exceptions, process Ariba invoices, and ensure accurate data entry from invoices. This role demands analytical thinking, strong attention to detail, and collaboration across cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent
• Associates degree with 4 years of procurement ops, vendor management, or project coordination experience
• High school diploma / GED with 6 years of procurement ops experience
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing preferred
• Hands-on experience with SAP Ariba (Downstream Buying and Invoicing) and SAP ERP systems
• Procurement knowledge: purchasing processes, vendor management, and supply chain logistics
• Analytical and detail-oriented; strategic thinking; commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement

What You Will Do

PO Creation & Management

• Creating, issuing, and managing R&D or project-related Purchase Orders (POs) within SAP Ariba and SAP ECC/S4 HANA systems.

Supplier Relationship Management

• Facilitating new vendor inclusion, resolving PO exceptions (specs, shipment issues), and updating payment terms per the scope of work.
• Ariba Invoice Processing.
• SAP data input from Invoices.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree
• OR
• Associates degree and 4 years of procurement operations, vendor management, or project coordination experience
• OR
• High school diploma / GED and 6 years of procurement operations, vendor management, or project coordination experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing (if relevant).
• Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with SAP Ariba (Downstream Buying and Invoicing) and SAP ERP systems.
• Procurement Knowledge: Familiarity with purchasing processes, vendor management, and supply chain logistics.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
