Job summary

Carrier/Automated Logic is seeking an Associate Field Engineer in the United States to start in late October 2026. You will join a program that includes field commissioning of building automation systems, troubleshooting, and customer-facing responsibilities across multiple projects.

The role targets new graduates from technical trades or HVAC-related programs, emphasizing self-motivation, attention to detail, and customer focus, with a structured Ignite program and Atlanta training trip.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using lift equipment over 8 feet and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable by company.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Associate degree or certificate in HVAC/Controls is preferred.
  • Interest in building automation and HVAC controls.
  • Interest in building automation software such as WebCTRL.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems using Direct Digital Control technology.
  • Provide effective solutions for system issues.
  • Deliver turnkey project work on small to mid-level projects.
  • Ensure systems operate properly, including controls, sensors, and software.
  • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
  • Manage time to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

About This Role

As an Associate Field Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for a team member who is self-motivated, detail oriented, and is customer focused. This position is your first introduction into the career of a Field Engineer. You will begin to complete assignments using troubleshooting skills, projects will advance in difficulty to develop your skills. The ideal candidate will be a 2025 or 2026 graduate of a Technical Trade school, or High School with a focus in HVAC, Controls, or related field. As a new Associate Field Engineer, you will be a part of our TechVantage Ignite Program. This includes a 2 week paid trip to Atlanta, Georgia where we will teach you everything you need to perform your new role with excellence. There will also be a number of fun team building activities during the connecting weekend to participate in. The start date of this program will be October 28, 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
  • Offer effective solutions for system issues.
  • Provide turnkey project delivery on small to mid-level projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring that systems operate properly, to include controls, sensors, and software.
  • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
  • Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate and document the status and details of the project for the customer.
  • Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
  • Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
  • Interest in Building Automation, HVAC controls, or related field.
  • Interest in building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Working Knowledge with Microsoft 365 applications.
Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $35,500.00 - $71,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
