Job summary

Dexcom San Diego is seeking a Facilities Technician to join the Facilities Engineering team. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facilities systems and support Manufacturing Operators and Innovators.

Responsibilities include repairs to drywall, flooring, ceilings, plumbing; operate and maintain utility systems and controls; troubleshoot equipment and run tests to return systems to normal operation; use CMMS to record work; manage small projects. Travel 0-5%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience.
• Ability to interpret Engineering drawings, P&IDs.

Job description

Meet the team:

Join the Dexcom San Diego Facilities Engineering team where you will work closely with Manufacturing Operators and Innovators to provide planned and unplanned Facilities systems support.

Where you come in:

• You will perform facilities system equipment preventive and corrective maintenance.
• You will perform facilities repairs to include (but not limited to); drywall patch and paint, flooring, ceilings, window covering & plumbing.
• You will operate and maintain utility systems, building systems & associated controls, sub-systems, auxiliaries, and accessories.
• You will initiate troubleshooting and diagnoses for equipment problems and conduct tests & repairs to return systems to normal operation.
• You will conduct regular frequency inspections of buildings and equipment for normal operation.
• You will utilize a computerized maintenance management system to record your work.
• You will manage small projects throughout their entirety.

What makes you successful:

• You have the ability to interpret Engineering and Construction drawings, system and equipment diagrams and P&IDs.
• You have limited knowledge and understanding of engineering fundamentals with respect to Mechanical and Electrical systems and equipment.
• You have a basic awareness of the Quality system, GMP environmental controls and the CAPA process.
• You have basic knowledge for proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools related to job functions.
• You have basic awareness of HVAC & Controls, domestic and industrial water systems, compressed air systems, refrigeration, Purified water systems, electrical systems & emergency power, UPS and other related controls and systems.
• You have the ability to work long hours, holiday and weekends as necessary.
• Being able to work shifts other than normal business hours to include weekends – as necessary/assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements:

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years previous experience.
