Job summary

Jubilant HollisterStier LLC in Spokane, WA is seeking a Project Engineer II to lead large-scale facility projects in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, develop technical specifications, and ensure compliance with GMP standards throughout project execution.

You hold a BS in mechanical, chemical, or manufacturing engineering with 3+ years of project management or engineering, and practical experience in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing or similar engineering field.
  • 3+ years of project management and/or project engineering experience.
  • Experience with facility engineering and pharmaceutical systems.
  • Knowledge of GMP and ISPE Baseline Guides is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and project scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for facility projects including expansions and upgrades.
  • Contribute expertise in pharmaceutical systems design, modification and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for facilities and processes.
  • Manage capital and expense facility projects per PM guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers daily.
  • Develop detailed specifications and RFQs for external firms.
  • Maintain engineering documentation per regulatory standards.

Job Description

The Project Engineer II provides pharmaceutical engineering knowledge primarily in the area of facility engineering. This position will manage large-scale projects and multi-disciplinary project teams. The engineer will also contribute technical direction for complex projects and exhibit clear communication skills with all levels of employees. This individual will be recognized as knowledgeable in multiple areas of facility pharmaceutical engineering and help provide leadership and guidance to others.

  • Provides technical support of engineering facility projects including facility and utility expansion, compliance upgrades, cost reduction, contract manufacturing, process improvements, construction projects, etc.
  • Through education and experience contributes expertise in the area of facility engineering. This includes design, modification and troubleshooting pharmaceutical systems such as HVAC, Clean Steam, WFI, electrical and knowledge of pharmaceutical construction methods.
  • Is responsible for contributing knowledge of regulatory requirements for the facility and processes to ensure compliance to local, state, federal and international regulatory agencies.
  • With slight supervision/assistance, manages capital and expense facility projects in a manner that is compliant with the “Project Management Guidelines” system. This system includes methods for scheduling, budgeting, meeting management, teamwork, communication, and documentation of a multi-departmental project team.
  • Must work effectively with various internal and external customers on a daily basis. Internal customers may include departments such as Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Validation, Finance, etc. External interactions will include officials from local, state or federal regulatory agencies, A&E firms, construction firms, vendors, equipment manufacturers, etc.
  • Participates in the compliance to both short-term and long-term company objectives as defined by upper management.
  • Development of detailed specifications and RFQs to be used by A&E firms, contractors or equipment manufactures to accurately quote on projects being pursued by the company.
  • Responsible for using systems of engineering documentation required by regulatory agencies and in compliance with generally accepted engineering guidelines, SOPs, or quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science; Major: Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, or similar engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of project management and/or project engineering
  • AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Pharmaceutical Facility/Systems
  • Working knowledge of Project Management
  • Working knowledge of ISPE Baseline Guides
  • Skilled in Management of Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • Skilled in Communication with Internal/External customers
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguous and complex situations, influencing outcomes, and driving a multi-disciplinary team without direct authority
