Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer or Engineer (Tech Ops Lead) to support engineering technical operations in the Strike Division. The role is based on-site in Melbourne, FL or Palmdale, CA, with travel limited and relocation possible.

The position requires a STEM degree, an active Secret clearance, and experience in managing engineering processes and staffing. Proficiency with MS Office and collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline; Associate Engineer may require 0 years, Engineer requires 2 years or M.S. with 0 years.
  • Active U.S. government Secret clearance (or higher) granted or renewed within last 6 years, or under continuous evaluation.
  • Experience developing and managing processes across large organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate meetings, capture actions, and produce deliverables for senior leadership.
  • Drive common people processes across Engineering teams, including staffing fulfillment, redeployment, and release processes.
  • Report status with analysis of program staffing, growth, skills projections, and direct labor rates.
  • Coordinate with homeroom, program, and other functional teams to achieve the Engineering annual operating plan (AOP) and long‑range goals.
  • Provide guidance on technical training and skills development initiatives across Engineering.
  • Coordinate proposal functional reviews and obtain approvals from the VP of Engineering or Chief Engineer.
  • Author and deliver weekly and monthly status reports to sector Engineering and the division.
  • Execute projects in support of engineering tasks as directed by the VP of Engineering.

Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is looking for an Associate Engineer or Engineer (Tech Ops Lead) to support Engineering technical operations in our Strike Division. The role is based at Melbourne, FL or Palmdale, CA and requires onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
  • Associate Engineer (Level1): Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline; 0 years of related professional or military experience with engineering or project/program operations.
  • Engineer (Level2): Either Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 2 years of related experience, or Master of Science in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related experience.
  • Experience developing and managing processes across large organizations.
  • Active U.S. government Secret clearance (or higher) granted or renewed within the last 6years, or under continuous evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, SharePoint).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of NGAS resource management processes.
  • Previous support for broad initiatives led by VP or Director.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication, project management, analytical, planning, and presentation skills.
Salary
  • California: Level1 $69,400–$104,000; Level2 $83,400–$125,200.
  • Florida: Level1 $59,900–$89,900; Level2 $72,100–$108,100.
