Lucid Motors seeks an Associate Interior Components and Systems Engineer to support packaging, engineering release, prototype builds, validation, and production launch of interior systems.   • Support assigned interiors products throughout the development lifecycle from concept to production launch.
  • Create interior solutions balancing luxury, craftsmanship, comfort, ergonomics, safety, quality, and cost.

We are seeking a detail-orientedAssociateInterior Components and Systemsengineerwithfoundationalexperienceor strong interestin automotive interiors, including areas such as hardtrim,softtrim,instrument panels, doortrims,consoles, headliners, and related assemblies.You willsupportthe packaging, engineering, release, and launch of Interior Components and Systems in the Lucid portfolio whileworking closelywithsenior engineers, cross-functional partners, and interiortrim suppliers tohelp deliver technically robust solutionsontime.

What You'll Own
  • Support assignedproducts throughout thedevelopment lifecycle, from concept creation and packaging through engineering release, prototype builds, validation, manufacturing launch, and production support, with guidance from senior engineers and program leaders.
  • Create industry-leading interior solutions that deliver exceptional luxury, craftsmanship, comfort, ergonomics, performance, safety, quality, and functionality while meeting cost, mass, timing, and manufacturing objectives.
  • Support the developmentandmaintenance ofengineering deliverables including technical requirements, CAD models and drawings, Design Verification Plans (DVP&R), DFMEAs, validation plans, engineering releases, and issue-management documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Program Management, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve program milestones.
  • Supporttechnical engagement with suppliers, includingdesign reviews, feasibility assessments, quotereviews, cost optimizationactivities, development tracking, and delivery of engineering milestones.
  • Utilize CAD and engineering analysis tools to develop robust, manufacturable designs that meet engineering specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Participate inprototype, validation, and production buildsby helpingidentify, document, and resolvedesign, quality, manufacturing, and supplier-related issueswith support from senior engineers and cross-functional partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing innovative tools, processes, and methodologies that improve product quality, engineering efficiency, and development effectiveness.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices by sharing lessons learned, documenting solutions, and actively learning from senior engineers and cross-functional partners.
  • Demonstrateownership and accountability for assignedtasksandcomponents by identifyingrisks early,escalating issues appropriately, supportingresolution, and deliveringhigh-quality workwith urgency.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 0–2+ years of experienceor relevant internship, co-op, academic project, or early-career engineering experience related tothe design, development, validation, release,orlaunch of automotive Interior Components and Systems, including one or more of the following: soft trim, hard trim, instrument panels, door trims, center consoles, headliners, pillars, package trays, decorative trim, or related assemblies.
  • Exposure to one or more phases oftheproductdevelopment lifecycle,includingconcept creation,packaging,engineering release, validation, industrialization,orproduction launch.
  • Foundationalknowledge of automotive interior systems, materials, manufacturing processes, industry benchmarks,customer quality expectations, and supplier capabilities, with a willingness to deepen technicalexpertisethrough hands-on program work.
  • Familiarity withengineering deliverablessuch asproduct specifications, Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), validation plans, engineering releases, and issue-management activities.
  • Working knowledge ofCATIA V5/V6 or equivalent CAD tools for 3D modeling, packaging studies, concept development, drafting, design reviews, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) evaluations.
  • Exposure tovehicle launchactivities,including prototype builds, validation activities, production readiness reviews, issue resolution,orsupport through Start of Production (SOP).
  • Experience collaborating across Design, Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Program Management, and supplier organizations to deliver complex automotive systems.
  • Exposure tosupplierengagement activities such asfeasibility reviews, sourcing support,quotereview, cost optimization, development tracking,orlaunch readiness activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause investigation skills, with the ability to balance technical, manufacturing, quality, cost, mass, and timing requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, build alignment, and drive execution in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Demonstratedownership,curiosity,and accountability, includingthe ability to learn quickly, supporttechnical reviews,manage assignedpriorities, andcontribute tosuccessful program outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing premium or luxury automotive interior systems.
  • Exposure to one or more vehicle programs from concept through production, including academic, internship, supplier, or early-career engineering experience.
  • Exposure toAPQP, GD&T, tolerance stack analysis, FMEA facilitation,orautomotive quality processes.
  • Working knowledge of craftsmanship, fit-and-finish, durability, NVH, ergonomics, safety, and customer-perceived quality requirements for interior systems.
  • Interest in developing technical breadth by learning from senior engineers and contributing to cross-functional engineering activities across global teams.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$98,900—$135,960 USD

Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a401(k) retirementplan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
