United Integrated Services (USA) Corp., a subsidiary of United Integrated Services Co., Ltd. (UIS Taiwan), is a multidisciplinary engineering and construction company based in Phoenix, Arizona. We provide fully integrated design-build services for high-technology manufacturing facilities, including engineering design, factory planning, and delivery of clean-room systems, HVAC, electrical systems, and tool hook-up.

Summary

Associate Engineer – Instrumentation & Control is a full-time onsite position located in North Phoenix, AZ. The role involves testing, installing, and maintaining equipment that automates processes in a manufacturing environment, and assisting in assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of the Facility Management & Control System (FMCS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform requirement classification of clients, communicate project requirements, and conduct design reviews with internal & external design teams.
  • Understand drawings and review specifications and estimation.
  • Conduct onsite inspections to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and adheres to construction schedules.
  • Assist procurement team with FMCS system equipment and materials procurement, contractor awards, and review & respond to RFIs and change orders.
  • Perform the required scope of work and clarify specifications with stakeholders.
  • Review progress reports, materials, costs, contract payment applications, and adjust work schedules accordingly.
  • Manage materials related to FMCS testing, perform testing & commissioning.
  • Review and oversee the installation of FMCS systems and instruments.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal use and client communication.
  • Anticipate and prevent problems from arising.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Control Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1‑5+ years of experience in Control Systems Planning.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of FMCS systems, including hardware and operational documentation of instruments & control elements, PLC, DCS, and control networking.
  • Familiarity with sensors, analyzers, actuators, HMI to measure and control variables such as pressure, temperature, flow, level, humidity, pH, force, and speed.
  • Understanding of P&ID, isometrics, and CAD layout drawings for FMCS systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to use engineering software such as AutoCAD or similar.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, present information, and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with employees, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude.
  • Ability to work in a construction site environment (trailer office).
  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mandarin/Taiwanese speaking ability is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Nice to have:
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • May be required to travel within Arizona or internationally.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds; occasionally heavier with assistance.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grasp, and operate tools.
  • Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, or elevated surfaces as required.
  • Maintain visual acuity to read labels, instructions, safety signage, and documentation.
  • Maintain balance and coordination while moving materials or operating equipment.
  • Work in physically demanding environments with frequent movement and manual labor.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor work, varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or active job sites.
  • Required PPE: hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel‑toe boots, and high‑visibility vests.
  • Interaction with powered industrial equipment, tools, and vehicles.
