Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments (Lean internship ok).
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering discipline; or an equivalent combo of education/experience.
• Certifications: familiarity with Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred) or CM‑Lean (Lean Construction).
• Educational requirements may vary by geography.

Responsibilities

• Conduct time studies and workflow analyses to identify bottlenecks in construction cycles and material procurement.
• Implement and maintain Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to optimize site performance.
• Develop and manage KPIs to monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material waste.
• Design optimized site layouts and material staging plans to reduce double-handling and improve safety.
• Draft and implement SOPs to ensure best-practice consistency across multiple job sites.
• Collaborate with field supervisors and subcontractors to adopt efficient working methods.
• Lead 'Lesson Learned' sessions to capture data and refine processes for future bids and executions.
• Advanced data visualization skills (Tableau, Power BI, or advanced Excel) required.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or BIM/Revit; experience with scheduling software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Strategic problem solving and translating IE data into plain language for field crews.

Summary

This role is designed for a process-oriented professional who can apply industrial engineering discipline—specifically continuous improvement and lean methodologies to the dynamic environment of construction management. You will be responsible for bridge-building between high-level strategy and on-site execution, ensuring our projects are delivered with maximum efficiency and minimal waste.

Detailed Description

Process Optimization: Conduct time studies and workflow analyses to identify bottlenecks in construction cycles and material procurement.

Lean Construction Leadership: Implement and maintain Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping to optimize site performance.

Productivity Tracking: Develop and manage KPIs to monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material waste, providing actionable insights to leadership.

Site Logistics & Planning: Design optimized site layouts and material staging plans to reduce double-handling and improve safety.

Standardization & Quality: Draft and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure \"best practice\" consistency across multiple job sites.

Change Management: Work directly with field supervisors and subcontractors to encourage the adoption of new, more efficient working methods.

Post-Project Analysis: Lead \"Lesson Learned\" sessions to capture data and refine processes for future project bids and executions.

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Data Visualization (Tableau, PowerBI, or advanced Excel).

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment. (Strong internship experience in Lean environments will be considered).
