Qnity's Silicon Valley Technology Center in Silicon Valley seeks an Associate Engineer focused on prototyping and fabrication. You will lead fabrication components for diverse projects, including development of advanced methods and testing fabricated products.
This role requires hands-on lab work and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Requirements include a BS in mechanical engineering or related field and 1–3 years hands-on lab experience with fabrication tools (CNC, 3D printers);

Qnity’s Silicon Valley Technology Center The Qnity Silicon Valley Technology Center (SVTC) is a place where customers find end-to-end support solving their most critical and complicated electronic materials challenges. SVTC is Qnity’s premier applications development & engineering center of excellence located in the heart of Silicon Valley, with more than 10,000 square feet of state-of-the-art application laboratories spanning rapid prototyping, reliability testing, process development, and advanced analytical characterization, the team of engineers working at SVTC has all the resources they need to help customers solve their problems. As a leverage research & development organization, engineers at SVTC get to work with all of Qnity’s vast materials portfolio, with a local market focus in emerging domains such as consumer electronics, humanoid robotics, aerospace & defense, next gen automotive, and semiconductor industries.
The engineer specializing in prototyping & fabrication is expected to be the on-site subject matter expert in a diverse range of prototyping and fabrication techniques, including the development of advanced and novel fabrication methods serving a diverse and dynamic project portfolio of applications development work typical for SVTC. The successful candidate will lead fabrication components of critical projects and assist in the testing and characterization of fabricated products. Primary & Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Required Qualifications: Required: B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or other machinist curriculum and experience that required significant hands‑on training Preferred: 1-3 years of hands‑on experience working in a laboratory with fabrication/prototyping equipment Experience working with basic shop tools Experience working with CNC mill and 3D printers Experience using CAD and CAM software, such as SolidWorks, including the ability to produce professional engineering drawings Experience with basic materials characterization and metrology equipment, such as stress‑strain testers, confocal microscopes, etc. is preferred Well organized, attention to detail, excellent presentation/communication skills Curiosity and excitement to learn beyond assignments, excellent problem‑solving skills
