Job summary

Gulf Interstate Engineering in Houston, TX seeks an entry level Engineer to support project teams in the oil and gas sector. You will assist in requisition preparation, evaluate equipment and subcontracts, and observe factory acceptance tests while performing core engineering calculations under guidance.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Engineering and may have an EIT certification, with strong written and verbal communication skills and solid computer systems knowledge.

Qualifications

Essential Functions

• Assist in the preparation of requisitions for inquiry in support of purchasing equipment and materials.
• Prepares technical bid evaluations for equipment, materials, bulk material and subcontracts in cooperation with Procurement Department.
• Observes factory acceptance testing of equipment in cooperation with the Lead Engineer.
• Performs engineering calculations and analysis as required by discipline.
• Reviews vendor drawings.
• Accepts both short and extended term assignments to the site, client’s office, etc. as may be requested by the Chief Engineer.

Requirements

Qualifications

• 0 - 3 years of proven engineering experience in oil and gas industry.
• Knowledge of computer systems in an engineering environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
