Job summary

Artheon is seeking Civil/Municipal engineers to contribute to municipal infrastructure projects in East Brunswick, NJ. The role supports site civil and roadway design, planning board review, and preparation of engineering documents.

You will use AutoCAD/Civil 3D, collaborate with senior engineers, and participate in meetings to gain project-management exposure while pursuing PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain immediately after graduation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and preparation of site civil and roadway plans for municipal projects.
• Support planning board reviews and comment preparation.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and related engineering docs.
• Perform site visits and collect information for design and planning.
• Use AutoCAD/Civil 3D to develop drawings and documents.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams on solutions.
• Attend project meetings and shadow staff to gain PM and public agency exposure.
• Develop technical knowledge toward professional licensure.
• Maintain project schedules and complete tasks timely and with initiative.

$70,000 - $85,000 / year

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design and preparation of site civil and roadway engineering plans for municipal infrastructure projects
• Support planning board and land development review activities, including reviewing engineering plans and preparing technical comments
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, calculations, and other engineering documentation in support of design projects
• Perform preliminary site visits and field observations to gather information for engineering design and project planning
• Utilize AutoCAD/Civil 3D to develop engineering drawings and design documents
• Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
• Participate in project meetings and shadow senior staff during client and municipal meetings to gain project management and public agency experience
• Assist with a variety of municipal engineering assignments while developing technical knowledge and working toward professional licensure
• Maintain project schedules and complete assigned tasks in a timely and organized manner while demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain EIT immediately upon graduation
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
• Strong written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated, organized, and able to manage assignments independently while working in a collaborative team environment
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

• Approximately 1-3 years of experience in municipal engineering, site civil design, or roadway design
• Recent graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience will also be considered
• Familiarity with municipal engineering principles, site grading, roadway design, land development, planning board reviews, and cost estimating
• Experience with MicroStation
• Experience supporting engineering design projects from concept through construction documentation
• Ability to participate in occasional site visits and municipal meetings in support of project delivery
