Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. is seeking an Associate Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to embedded software that powers innovative products and technologies. You will work with experienced engineers on design, implementation, testing, and support for software interfacing with hardware systems.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will participate in debugging, documentation, and code reviews while applying software engineering best practices across the development cycle.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in software development concepts and good coding ability.
  • Experience with C and/or C++ in projects, internships, or coursework.
  • Understanding of how software interacts with hardware and embedded platforms.

About the Role

As an Associate Embedded Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development of embedded software solutions that power Analog Devices' innovative products and technologies. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will participate in the design, implementation, testing, and support of software that interfaces with hardware systems and enables product functionality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and debug embedded software and firmware components under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Participate in software development activities including coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Assist in integrating software with hardware systems and embedded platforms.
  • Support software verification, validation, and troubleshooting efforts throughout the development cycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, applications, and product engineering teams.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, software design discussions, and code reviews.
  • Apply software engineering principles and development best practices to assigned tasks.
Must Have Skills
  • Knowledge of software development fundamentals and programming concepts.
  • Experience with C and/or C++ programming through coursework, projects, internships, or professional experience.
  • Understanding of embedded systems concepts, microcontrollers, or hardware-software interaction.
  • Familiarity with debugging tools and problem-solving techniques.
  • Exposure to version control systems such as Git or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in embedded software development, firmware development, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Exposure to firmware, embedded software, or low-level programming projects.
  • Familiarity with software testing, validation, or debugging methodologies.
  • Experience working with embedded development tools, IDEs, or compilers.
  • Academic, internship, or personal project experience involving embedded systems, electronics, or software-hardware integration.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting.
Export Licensing

For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Job Requirements

Job Req Type: Graduate Job Required Travel: Yes, 10% of the time The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $71,989 to $99,006. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
