Job summary

Provost & Pritchard invites an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our growing electrical team in California. You will lead electrical design for agricultural, industrial, municipal, and water/wastewater projects, with emphasis on groundwater wells and treatment facilities.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare contract documents, and ensure compliance with NFPA, IEEE, and utility standards. Travel to project sites and field observations are expected as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3–6 years of relevant professional engineering experience in electrical systems for agricultural, industrial, municipal, or water/wastewater projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Experience preparing electrical plans, specifications, calculations, and other design documentation.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, IEEE, California Electrical Code, utility requirements, and ISA standards.
  • Experience with groundwater wells, booster pump stations, water/wastewater treatment facilities, or similar infrastructure preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities while meeting project schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct field observations and travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering design for agricultural, industrial, municipal, and water/wastewater projects.
  • Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, calculations, and opinions of probable construction cost.
  • Develop electrical designs and calculations for groundwater wells, booster pump stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure.
  • Coordinate electrical design requirements with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, utilities, and other disciplines.
  • Assist Project Managers with the development of project scopes, fees, and schedules.
  • Apply applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and utility requirements to project designs.
  • Perform and participate in quality control reviews of plans, specifications, calculations, and other technical documents.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including submittal reviews and site observations.
  • Participate in startup and commissioning activities and assist with troubleshooting electrical systems.

Summary:

This is an exciting time to join Provost & Pritchard’s growing electrical engineering team. With the recent acquisition of Pezzoni Engineering, Inc., we are bringing together established expertise and new opportunities to expand our electrical services and the projects we can deliver for our clients.

We are seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer who is excited to be part of that growth. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design and construction of agricultural, industrial, and municipal projects, with an emphasis on water and wastewater infrastructure. Projects may include groundwater wells, booster pump stations, treatment facilities, and other critical infrastructure. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of electrical design, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and help shape the continued growth of our electrical services.

Duties:
  • Perform electrical engineering design for agricultural, industrial, municipal, and water/wastewater projects.
  • Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, calculations, and opinions of probable construction cost.
  • Develop electrical designs and calculations for systems associated with groundwater wells, booster pump stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure.
  • Coordinate electrical design requirements with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, utilities, and other disciplines.
  • Assist Project Managers with the development of project scopes, fees, and schedules.
  • Apply applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and utility requirements to project designs.
  • Perform and participate in quality control reviews of plans, specifications, calculations, and other technical documents.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including submittal reviews, responses to requests for information, site observations, and coordination with contractors.
  • Participate in startup and commissioning activities and assist with troubleshooting electrical systems as needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineering and design staff.
  • Perform other electrical engineering and project-related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
