We are seeking an Associate Editor to join the Clinical Communications team and play a key role in building and refining high-quality educational content for healthcare professionals. You will support the development of slide decks, video scripts, publications, and promotional materials — conducting literature research, fact‑checking referenced content, managing references, and ensuring every deliverable meets the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and clinical relevance. This role is for someone with a sharp editorial eye, strong scientific curiosity, and an AI-native approach to research, content drafting, and workflow efficiency.
Perform subject matter research and generate preliminary project content for educational slide decks, video scripts, and discussion guides, using AI tools to accelerate literature synthesis and initial drafting without compromising scientific accuracy Acquire studies and articles, organize and archive reference PDFs in project folders, and style, create, and organize reference lists and annotations Review content for alignment with outlines, slides, and transcripts, and perform base-level content fact checks against primary literature Conduct organizational and content edits, prepare materials for layout, faculty review, or recording, and ensure consistent style and format throughout Ensure the scientific and clinical accuracy of all materials through comprehensive fact‑checking of referenced literature Develop and format storyboards and editing grids with time codes, and quality check video edits from the studio Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines, and develop and manage reference annotations across all deliverable types Format citations and reference lists, develop publication front matter and end matter, and quality check faculty names, credentials, and affiliations Support the preparation of promotional educational materials in compliance with pharmaceutical company standards and FDA regulations Review and implement MLR and Promotional Review Committee edits, and annotate MLR and PRC-directed changes accurately and completely Review publication layouts and implement edits using InCopy, proofread and format slides, and manage tables and figures Manage workload across multiple concurrent deliverables and projects, adjusting priorities as needed to meet team objectives and timelines
Strong scientific writing and editing skills with a genuine interest in clinical and medical content across therapeutic areas An AI-native mindset. You actively use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or AI-assisted research platforms to accelerate literature reviews, organize reference materials, support initial content drafting, and improve editorial efficiency — while maintaining rigorous scientific accuracy and full compliance with MLR and regulatory standards Detail-oriented and thorough in fact-checking, reference formatting, and annotation — you do not let inaccuracies pass, and you hold yourself to an uncompromising standard of clinical accuracy Familiarity with pharmaceutical promotional review processes including MLR and PRC workflows, and an understanding of FDA regulations governing promotional educational content Experience with InCopy, slide formatting, storyboard development, or video production workflows preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities simultaneously without losing quality Knowledge of citation and reference formatting standards, including the ability to develop and manage annotations across complex deliverables Collaborative team player who works effectively with Content Leads, faculty, and cross‑functional partners Bachelor's degree in a life sciences, communications, or related field; advanced degree a plus
Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they are currently using AI in their editorial, research, or scientific communications work. This includes: Specific tools in active use and how they support literature research, content drafting, reference organization, or fact‑checking workflows How you use AI to accelerate the research and preliminary drafting phases of content development while maintaining scientific rigor and compliance with MLR and regulatory standards Your approach to verifying AI-generated content against primary literature — and how you ensure accuracy is never compromised in exchange for speed Bonus: examples of AI‑assisted editorial workflows, research processes, or content development approaches that improved output quality or turnaround time on clinical communications projects
Compensation Range $50,000 to $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. Compensation will depend on factors including educational background, skills, and professional experience.
