What we are looking for:

The Worldwide Commercialization Learning (WWCL) Centre of Excellence is seeking an experienced learning leader to serve as Associate Director, WW Medical Skills.

This role is the single point of accountability within the WWCL CoE for the functional and behavioral skills learning strategy across the full Medical Organization, field and home office.

This includes the functional skills, coaching capability, and ways of working that sit alongside, and are built on top of, deep therapy area and disease knowledge.

Where the Director, Medical Science, Disease & Product (MSDP) owns scientific and disease knowledge content for Medical learners, this role owns how Medical colleagues are equipped to apply that knowledge: field colleagues engaging credibly with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and coaching teams to essential BMS competencies, and home office colleagues (e.g., Medical Affairs, Medical Lead, Medical Science Liaison leadership) building the functional and cross-functional skills needed to operate effectively within the New Commercialization Model and beyond.

Within the WWCL operating model the role acts as Learning Partner Lead for the Medical skills portfolio, spanning field and home office, with no direct line management responsibility but access to an allocated pool of Senior Managers within the CoE.

Who you will work with:

This position reports to the Senior Director, Worldwide Commercialization Learning Centre of Excellence.

• WW Medical Learning and Global Field Medical Excellence teams, to define priority field skills needs and ensure content is relevant, locally deployable, and consistently executed
• WW Medical Affairs and Home Office Medical leadership teams, to define priority home office Medical skills needs (e.g., Medical Lead, Medical Science Liaison management, Medical Affairs cross-functional capability) and ensure content is relevant and consistently executed
• Fellow WWCL CoE Associate Directors (WW Commercialization Field AI Transformation Learning; WW Commercialization Platforms Skills Development), to maintain a coherent, non-duplicative learner experience across related skills portfolios
• Associate Director, CASA & 3M Skills Development, reflecting this role's ownership of all Medical skills, field and home office, including Marketing and Market Access home office skills
• Associate Director, Agile Strategic Learning Lead, to secure Senior Manager resource from the CoE's pooled Agile Strategic Learning Partner team, matched to the priority, tier, and phase of Medical skills work
• LEAP as a Learning Partner, an execution interlock for content development, production, and learning logistics on Medical skills work
• US and International Commercial and Medical Learning teams, to ensure programs are relevant, locally deployable, and consistently executed
• Enterprise Learning and Digital Learning Solution Partner (DLSP) teams, to optimize program deployment, learner journey design, and adoption tracking
• Senior Managers (CoE agile pool), providing strategic direction and delivery accountability to allocated Senior Managers supporting the Medical skills portfolio
• Director, Medical Science, Disease & Product (MSDP), as a peer and named collaborator, ensuring a coherent, non-duplicative learner experience across scientific/disease knowledge and functional skills content for Medical learners

Medical Skills Strategy & Leadership Own the end-to-end functional and behavioral skills learning strategy for Medical teams across field and home office, translating Medical priorities into a coherent, phased, and measurable learning roadmap Set the strategy for annual Medical training needs assessments across field and home office populations, combining qualitative and quantitative research with input from WW Medical Learning, Global Field Medical Excellence, and Home Office Medical/Medical Affairs leadership to define functional skills gaps Define how Medical skills programs build on, and stay distinct from, MSDP's therapy area and disease knowledge content, maintaining clear accountability boundaries between the two Serve as the CoE's primary learning partner to WW Medical Learning, Global Field Medical Excellence, and Home Office Medical/Medical Affairs leadership for Medical capability priorities Ensure the Medical skills strategy remains coherent as both fie
