Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks an Associate Director to lead external manufacturing of large molecule drug substances for animal health, with a focus on viral products and network transfers.

The role directs global CMO supply chain, oversees tech transfer, process development, improvements, troubleshooting and lifecycle management, and collaborates across suppliers, R&D, QA, procurement and manufacturing to drive innovative, cost-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in biotech drug substance development, including 5+ years in process development of LM biologics (mAbs, vaccines, ADCs, or mRNA).
• Strong leadership, project management and communication skills; experience in viral vaccine development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage global CMO supply chain.
• Oversee tech transfer, process development, process improvements, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
• Lead cross-functional collaborations with suppliers, procurement, R&D, QA, and manufacturing.
• Conduct audits and support sourcing decisions.
• Drive innovation to enhance processes and reduce costs.
• Lead technical teams during project execution from sourcing to commercialization.
