Success in this role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, relationship building, project management skills, sound judgment, and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently develop, design, and produce high-quality stewardship deliverables.
  • Write and design personalized donor impact reports and create other special stewardship pieces for donors.
  • Utilize different platforms and communication tools, such as videos, to convey impact to donors and enhance stewardship efforts.
  • Utilize database (CRM) in daily work, including updating individual records, pulling reports, and interpreting dashboards and data.
  • Remain updated about industry best practices and routinely suggest new ways to implement and push the field forward as appropriate.
  • May partner with other DOFFs to align stewardship and engagement opportunities with broader messaging, brand and priorities.
  • Support the development and execution of university-wide volunteer events.
  • Manage the creation of biennial welcome letters from the chair of the University board of Trustees to new advisory board/council members.
  • Oversee the Board Portal program.
  • Maintain an online set of institutional guidelines, policies and procedures, and other resources to support DOFF partners.
  • Serve on institutional working groups/committees and lead training as needed.
  • May supervise staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties
  • Lead project management and on-the-ground execution of projects and initiatives across Johns Hopkins Medicine for the Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI). OSI manages Johns Hopkins’ relationship with a transformational donor, providing comprehensive stewardship, proposals, and strategic leadership for all activities related to the donor.
  • Support a unique portfolio of development-related and capital projects across Johns Hopkins Medicine, overseeing program and research investments and providing behind-the-scenes support and facilitation for key initiatives and stakeholders.
  • Partner with senior leadership to design and execute strategic stewardship plans and engagement touchpoints that celebrate the donor’s impact and deepen the relationship over time.
  • Employ advanced communication skills, written and verbal, to ensure alignment, coordination, and effective communication across teams, synthesizing complex information into clear, compelling narratives that highlight donor impact on research, clinical care and education, and key achievements in Johns Hopkins Medicine.
  • Have a strong presence across the organization and requires relationship-building and discretion, as well as curiosity and initiative to become deeply connected to the work supported by the donor and consistently share timely, accurate, and meaningful updates to OSI.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years related experience, with at least two years of professional experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing inter-office projects with multiple stakeholders; experience with stewardship and donor relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and resilience in a complex, fast-paced dynamic environment to foster strong relationships and align strategic initiatives between the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine, Development and Alumni Relations, Office of Strategic Initiatives, and the SOM Dean’s Office.
