Job summary

Cornell University is seeking an Associate Director of Sorority and Fraternity Life to provide leadership for SFL, supervise the Council Services Team, and partner with the Director to advance student development and accountability.

The role builds strong relationships with chapter advisors, alumni, and campus partners, while guiding expansion, recognition, and programming to foster inclusive communities across sorority and fraternity life.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Student Affairs or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Experience advising sorority and fraternity organizations.
• Demonstrated experience in sorority and fraternity advising, program and event planning, leadership development, alcohol education, recruitment, conduct and/or hazing prevention.
• Willingness to work irregular and flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Council Services Team and supervise professional staff and student leaders.
• Serve as the liaison to the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards (OSCCS) and coordinate with the Director of SFL.
• Develop training and educational programs that advance student development within sorority and fraternity life.
• Direct the expansion and recognition process and support recruitment and retention efforts for the Council Services Team.
• Foster collaborative relationships with advisors, house directors, alumni, parents, and campus partners.
