Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director, Technical Operations - Small Molecule Drug Product for the Elkton site in Virginia, USA. This role leads startup, tech transfer, validation, and ongoing manufacturing of oral solid dosage forms with a focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

You will drive process scale-up, technology transfer, and continuous improvement while ensuring cGMP compliance and robust product quality across the network.

Qualifications

• Degree (BSc/BEng/Masters) or higher in Chemical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for startup, technology transfer, validation, and ongoing commercial manufacture of oral solid dosage forms.
• Lead technology transfer activities across internal sites and external partners; support process validation and lifecycle management.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP and regulatory expectations; support inspections and regulatory submissions.
• Lead and develop a team of technical specialists and engineers; contribute to budgeting and resource planning.
