Job summary

Travere Therapeutics in San Diego, with remote options, is seeking an Associate Director, Technical Operations (Small Molecule CMC) to oversee API development and manufacturing at CDMOs, supporting late-stage development toward commercial readiness.

The role collaborates with Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Supply Chain to meet milestones; requires 8+ years in small molecule development, PPQ, and CDMO management, with 10–20% travel.

Qualifications

• BS degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering, or related life sciences.
• MS or PhD preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience with late-stage clinical development, scale-up, and commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of API production, scale-up, and PPQ for small molecule oral drugs.
• Review manufacturing documentation, change controls, and validation protocols/reports.
• Qualification and validation status of CDMOs and external labs; support for GMP quality systems.
