Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Carlsbad, CA is seeking an Associate Director, Scientific Communications to lead asset-specific scientific communication plans for early-stage programs.

The role reports to the Head of Scientific Communications and focuses on developing publication plans and scientific lexicon. The candidate will collaborate with Drug Discovery, Clinical Development, HEOR and Medical Affairs to align messages across platforms, including publications and congresses.

Formación

• Advanced degree in science or medicine (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent).
• Five or more years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry or scientific/medical communications agency.
• Hands-on, self-directed, organized, and diligent professional who operates both strategically and tactically.
• Effective project management skills, ability to multi-task, track progress and adjust timelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to distill complex materials.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as Scientific Communications representative for two or more Ionis’ prioritised drugs in early development.
• Achieve subject matter knowledge on the investigational drug and disease indication.
• Develop a publication strategy for key tactics including abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to write journal articles, abstracts, posters, and presentations.
• Ensure scientific materials and publications comply with company standards and approval processes.
• Interact with cross-functional teams and external experts to maintain scientific accuracy.
