  • 7+ years of scientific communications, medical affairs, or related roles within biotech/pharma.
  • Experience supporting publication strategy and congress execution, ideally for late-stage programs.
  • Experience in autoimmune, immunology, or inflammatory diseases preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of publication standards, data disclosure and compliance (GPP2022, ICMJE).
  • Strong project management and ability to manage multiple timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the scientific communications plan aligned with asset strategy.
  • Manage global publication activities (author engagement, abstracts, manuscripts, posters, oral presentations).
  • Oversee plans for major medical meetings, including content development and alignment.
  • Draft and edit scientific content for Field Medical and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate interpretation of data.
  • Maintain publication trackers, timelines, and vendor relationships.
  • Support advisory boards and investigator meetings.
  • Establish processes to ensure consistency and compliance across materials.

Job Summary

The Associate Director of Scientific Communications will support the development and execution of the scientific communications strategy across the portfolio, leading day‑to‑day publication planning, congress activities, and scientific content development. This individual partners closely with the Senior Director, Scientific Communications and cross‑functional stakeholders in Clinical Development, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Commercial to translate clinical and translational data into clear, compliant, and scientifically rigorous materials for internal and external audiences. The role requires strong scientific writing ability, project management skills, and comfort operating in a fast‑paced, evolving biotech environment.

Work Arrangement & Location

Hybrid - This position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of two (2) days on‑site per week — currently designated as Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional on‑site days may be required based on business needs, team priorities, or leadership direction.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support development and lead execution of the scientific communications plan in alignment with asset strategy and medical affairs objectives
  • Manage global publication activities (author engagement, abstracts, manuscripts, posters, oral presentations) in compliance with GPP2022 and company SOPs
  • Oversee the execution of plans for major international and regional medical meetings, including content development and internal alignment
  • Draft and edit scientific content, including slide decks, scientific exchange materials, FAQs, and training resources for Field Medical teams
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate interpretation and timely dissemination of data
  • Maintain publication trackers, timelines, and vendor/agency relationships to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery
  • Support advisory boards, investigator meetings, and external scientific forums
  • Assist in establishing processes and standards to ensure consistency and compliance across scientific materials
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Education: PhD, PharmD, MS, or equivalent advanced scientific degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in scientific communications, medical affairs, or related roles within biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience supporting publication strategy and congress execution, ideally for late‑stage (Phase 2/3 or Phase 3) programs
  • Experience in autoimmune, immunology, or inflammatory diseases preferred
  • Deep knowledge of scientific publication standards, data disclosure requirements, and medical compliance, including GPP2022 and ICMJE guidelines
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple concurrent timelines
  • Contribute to a culture of scientific excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the scientific communications function
  • Build credibility with cross‑functional partners across Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Medical Affairs
  • Exercise sound judgment and independent problem‑solving in a fast‑paced, resource‑constrained environment
  • Translate complex clinical and scientific data into clear, audience‑appropriate narratives for diverse stakeholders
  • Communicate proactively with cross‑functional partners on publication timelines, congress deliverables, and project status
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance of scientific messaging across all channels and materials
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical, regulatory, and commercial colleagues to align on scientific narrative
Salary Range

The expected salary range for this position varies by location and will be communicated based on the country or region in which the selected candidate is hired. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job‑related factors permitted by applicable local law. A discretionary annual bonus and long‑term incentive award (e.g., equity) may be available based on individual and Company performance.

Salary Range

$165,000 - $214,500 USD
