Stanford University School of Medicine seeks an Associate Director of Research Administration to provide strategic leadership for the department’s research administration function. You will oversee post‑award administration, financial stewardship, compliance, and continuous process improvement across a large organization supporting sponsored research.

Qualifications

Master’s degree and six years relevant experience.
Advanced knowledge of Oracle or other business financial systems.
Advanced understanding of financial principles.
Advanced oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Manage staff, hiring decisions, coaching, training and mentoring, and succession planning.
Plan and monitor budgets for areas of responsibility and oversee administration.
Identify and resolve complex problems with broad departmental impact.
Develop financial reporting systems and strengthen internal controls.
Lead and participate in major initiatives and process redesign.
Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders.
Support stewardship of sponsored research resources.
