Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Associate Director of Project Management to join our Detroit-area team. You will support the Director of PM in managing client relationships, drive new revenue through winning proposals, and lead bid teams with senior management.

You will attend client interviews, mentor staff, and provide regular project and financial updates while developing opportunities to cross-sell Turner & Townsend services across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of project management experience in construction.
• Experience managing client accounts and project teams.
• Strong knowledge of local construction market.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, written, organizational and communication skills.
• Business development experience with cross-selling opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of PM in managing client relationships and revenue growth.
• Lead bid teams and coordinate proposals with senior management.
• Attend client interviews to present services.
• Provide staffing updates and flag issues as needed.
• Mentor staff and manage performance objectives.
• Track margins, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Ensure timely client invoices and AR follow-up.
• Develop cross-selling opportunities with US clients.
• Deliver client presentations and pursue new business.
• Lead infrastructure project teams on campus and district programs.
• Liaise with municipal authorities as needed.

Job Description

Turner & Townsendis looking for anAssociate DirectorofProject Managementto join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Director of Project Management in managing new and existing client relationships, driving new revenue through the generation of new work and contract renewals on existing accounts.
• Lead bid teams and run proposal generation efforts in concert with the business generation and senior management teams.
• Attendingclient interviews to present our service offerings.
• Support the Director of PMbyinterviewing prospective candidates.
• Provide weekly updatesregardingthe status of projects, initiatives, and staffing, and whereappropriate, highlighting issues of concern, and/or conflict.
• Provide effective line management for the staff members assigned toyou,including coaching andmentoring,as necessary toassistthem in achieving professional and career growthobjectives.
• Financial Management-Utilize industry standard spreadsheets and accounting tools to track the ongoing margin levels, monthly fee/resource forecasts for eachcommissionand financial reports.
• Ensure client invoices areaccurateand issued ona timelybasis.Following upon accounts receivables
• Identifyand act upon cross-selling opportunities. Work with Senior Management team to develop strategies which promote Turner & Townsend across the U.S.
• Develop new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients and drive theclient'sdiversification agenda.
• Prepare and deliver client presentations on topics of relevant experience and knowledge and/or partner with other team members to generate new business.
• Attend relevant networking events and promotional opportunities.
• Leadership of small project management team responsible for planning and executing infrastructure projects in and around corporate campus (e.g. additions and improvements to utilities, roadways, bike paths, intersections, transit, etc.)
• Program management of neighbourhood portfolio of infrastructure projects including oversight of project managers from other companies delivering projects within the district.
• Liaison with municipal authorities havingjurisdictionover infrastructure projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management,architecture,engineeringor field related to construction.
• A graduatedegree in construction management, architecture, or engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience working in aprojectmanagement role in the construction industry.
• Experience managing client accounts effectively and efficiently.
• Experience managing teams of individual project managers andsupportingstaff.
• Relevantconsulting experience.
• Strong knowledge of local construction market
• Strong understanding of all aspects of the construction project life cycle.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with internal team members,clients,and cross-functional team members.
• Business development experience with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities.
• Relevant technical and leadership experience overseeing major construction projects or programs.
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, organizational and communication skills.
