Job summary

Biogen is seeking an Associate Director of Program Management within the Global Commercial and Medical IT organization. You will lead highly complex cross-functional programs, oversee portfolio financials, governance, budgeting, and month-end close, and drive product launches for Patient Services in RTP, NC.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate issues and provide portfolio status reporting. Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Management, you will optimize portfolio operations

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in IT; MBA preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years IT project/program/portfolio management in Pharma-Biotech.
  • Significant program leadership in Patient Services or Patient Support.
  • 5+ years delivering complex cross-functional projects within SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience with waterfall, agile, or SAFe delivery.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Financial discipline and accountability for deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and timelines.

About This Role

As the Associate Director of Program Management within the Global Commercial and Medical (GCM) IT organization, you will lead intricate, cross-functional programs and oversee portfolio financials, including governance, annual budgeting, and month-end close. You will drive critical projects and product launches supporting our Patient Services Organization in RTP, NC, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal oversight. Your role is pivotal in collaborating with stakeholders to drive decisions and proactively manage and mitigate issues and risks, consolidate portfolio-level status reporting and track performance, ensuring the portfolio delivers high-quality outcomes. You will support the GCM Leadership Team with monthly portfolio reviews and manage ad hoc requests as needed. Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Management and Operations for Global Commercial and Medical IT, you will be a key player in driving the success and efficiency of our organizational projects.

Required Skills


  • A Master's degree in Information Technology, an MBA preferred or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience as an IT professional managing projects, programs, and portfolios in the Pharma-Biotech industry.

  • Significant program leadership experience in Patient Services and/or Patient Support Organizations.

  • 5+ years of experience implementing complex, cross-functional projects within established software development life cycle methodologies.

  • Experience managing projects through waterfall, agile, or SAFe delivery methodologies.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Financial discipline and accountability for deliverables.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and timelines effectively.



Preferred Skills


  • Experience managing product launches and/or mergers & acquisitions.

  • Process-oriented mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $160,000.00-$220,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.


Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
