Job summary

Lonza is seeking an Associate Director, Process & Analytical Development, to lead analytical and process development activities. The role starts remote with a planned transition to the U.S. ADPD center as the organization grows, delivering safe, compliant, and on-time services aligned with ADS objectives.

The position requires a Master’s degree and 10+ years in pharma/biotech leadership, with strong GMP knowledge and experience in tech transfers, validation, and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years leadership experience in pharma/biotech.
• Deep understanding of small molecule and bioconjugate technologies.
• Significant GMP-regulated pharma/biotech experience.
• Experience with facility startups, tech transfer, validation, or large capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, GMP and development activities.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Executive communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for analytical and process development within ADPD.
• Lead a high-performing Process & Analytical Development team; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Define strategic direction through long-range planning and portfolio prioritization.
• Drive capability development to support future manufacturing operations and growth.
• Support S&OP to align capabilities with demand.
• Ensure safe, compliant, on-time execution of development and manufacturing activities.
• Manage budgets and resources for organizational performance.
• Lead Lean and data-driven continuous improvement initiatives.
