BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. seeks an Associate Director of Access Strategy to lead the integrated access plan across US portfolio. You will translate insights into payer-focused narratives for field teams, бренd channels, and policy considerations.
You will partner with Brand Marketing, Strategy and Analytics to drive performance, manage agencies, and ensure timely launches. A strong background in market access and real-world data is required.
BioMarin is a leading rare disease biotechnology company focused on genetically defined conditions.
Guided by our purpose to develop medicines that make a profound impact on people's lives, our global teams have delivered a portfolio of therapies since our founding in 1997. Our revolutionary treatments for conditions like achondroplasia (the most common form of dwarfism), PKU (phenylketonuria), CLN2, a form of Batten disease, and a number of forms of MPS (mucopolysaccharidosis) offer new possibilities for patients and families who previously had few, if any, available options. More recently, with the close of the Amicus acquisition, our portfolio has expanded to include therapies for Fabry disease and Pompe disease, expanding our ability to reach more people living with rare genetic conditions.
Our success comes from our unwavering commitment to excellence, our deep understanding of patient needs, our scientific expertise, and our world-class manufacturing capabilities. At the heart of BioMarin is a dedicated team of the brightest minds in the industry working together to deliver innovative therapies to patients and families around the world.
Be part of the worldwide infrastructure that gets our drugs to underserved patients around the world. Our global sales force solidifies BioMarin's commercial presence in the United States and Europe and is rapidly growing in other regions, such as South America, EuMEA, and Asia-Pacific.
The Associate Director, Access Strategy owns execution of the integrated access plan and the access customer campaign across BioMarin's U.S. portfolio, supporting both Skeletal Conditions and Metabolic Business Units. This person will translate access insights into an access narrative that payer, provider, and field channels all execute against. This individual will be responsible for accessing and analyzing different data sets and transforming access insights into access strategies.
The role also supports the operating rhythm of the access function: how the plan is built, how progress is measured, and how performance is communicated back to Brand, Commercial leadership and the Business Units. It works in partnership with Business Operations & Strategy and Business Insights, who remain the enterprise owners of analytics execution and data infrastructure. This role is the access business partner responsible for curating and defining the critical access questions: It defines what needs to be understood, brings the access and channel context that makes the output usable, and converts the result into a campaign, a recommendation, or a decision.
Success in this role looks like an access organization that is insight-driven and forward looking: a unified access message across all access segments, a defined play ready before the market event arrives, and access decisions that are evaluated before they are made rather than explained afterward.
Reports to: Sr. Director, Payer Access, Value & Evidence, U.S.
Scope: U.S., pan-portfolio, supporting both Business Units and the commercialized and near-term launch portfolio
Level: Associate Director
Direct reports: None initially; leads cross-functional teams, agencies and vendor partners
Integrated access strategy and campaign
Travel up to 25% of the time, including field rides, customer meetings, national congresses, and internal planning meetings.
