About this role

Leads the Packaging commodity team, establishes and executes purchasing objectives. Recommends and implements sourcing strategies and networks in support of supply chain strategy. Directs supplier selections, negotiations, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages global category spend for approximately $350M.
  • Responsible for building short and long‑term Packaging category strategy to ensure operational excellence and efficiencies are met.
  • Establishes a cross‑functional network and fosters collaboration with suppliers, wider supply chain organization, engineering, quality, and product management.
  • Owns the vendor performance data and reports metrics to leadership.
  • Develops and implements a category strategy which optimizes affordability, availability, agility, and innovation. Leverages understanding of similar industry, sourcing concepts, and Lean tools to ensure parts delivered on time at best cost and quality.
  • Manages external relationships with suppliers and assumes responsibility for all internal activities and decisions associated with Packaging category and suppliers, including contract negotiations, new products development, approved vendor list, RFX, re‑sourcing, dual qualification, pricing changes, quality, and capacity.
  • Collaborates within the Global Strategic Sourcing team and across Product Management and Engineering to align on long‑term strategy, technology roadmap, and risk mitigation.
  • Develops and maintains expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations.
  • Builds and develops a team of Packaging experts to drive global performance.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years’ experience in sourcing environment and familiarity with industrial operations.
Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, finance, or business.
  • MBA or professional certifications (CPM, CPSM, CIRM, CPIM).
  • Experience in packaging / logistics is ideal.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and lean tools.
  • Digital dexterity and ability to leverage data.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain strategy (development and execution) and category‑specific experience.
  • Independently driven problem solver with appetite to address complex challenges in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership, negotiation, and strategic communication.
  • Strong business acumen and experience collaborating across various levels within a diverse, global organization.
