Job summary

Character Biosciences is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Clinical Operations to lead the operational backbone of our Dry AMD program. You will own a portfolio of trials, drive timelines, quality, and regulatory readiness, partnering with Medical, Data, and Regulatory teams to keep studies on time and within budget.

Reporting to Aggie Malloy, this role offers remote work with potential for future team leadership as Development Operations scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–7+ years of Clinical Operations experience across multiple trial phases, including ophthalmology.
• Experience managing CROs, vendors, and sites; strong GCP/ICH knowledge and regulatory experience.

Responsibilities

• Own operational delivery of Dry AMD clinical trials from startup through close-out.
• Develop study-level operational plans and risk mitigation with relevant functions.
• Support regulatory activities including NDAs, MAAs, and inspections.
• Oversee vendor and CRO management, contracts, and performance.
• Monitor CRO activities to ensure site performance, enrollment, and data quality.
• Track study budgets and flag variances.
