Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking an Associate Director of Nursing for the Emergency Department in the Bronx. You will lead nursing services across units, develop staffing and policies, and collaborate with executives to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires a Master’s in Nursing Administration or a related degree (or equivalent nursing experience), plus NY RN licensure. This position offers a full-time daytime to rotating schedule at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx.

Qualifications

• Masters in Nursing Administration or related field, or Bachelor’s in Nursing with substantial experience.
• Active New York State RN license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation and evaluation of care delivery models for multiple units.
• Manage day-to-day operations of nursing services.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop nursing policies and standards.
• Develop and implement a staffing plan and direct selection of nursing personnel.
• Ensure efficiency and compliance with departmental goals and objectives.
• Supervise assistant directors of nursing and evaluate personnel performance.
• Analyze data regarding patient experience and staff engagement for improvement.
• Support nursing governance and promote Magnet principles.
• Oversee workforce planning and facilitate professional development of nursing staff.
• Participate in research projects and maintain accurate records related to nursing operations.
