Job summary

Guidehouse seeks a strategic Associate Director in Philadelphia to lead pricing and market access projects for pharmaceutical assets across development stages. You will oversee teams, develop client-ready deliverables, and support business development while engaging senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include science, biomedical engineering, business or healthcare policy.
• 6+ years of transferable consulting or biotechnology/pharmaceutical work in market access, reimbursement, pricing, health economics, forecasting, and/or pipeline strategy.
• 3+ years of direct client management and content delivery experience.
• Demonstrated project management, initiative, leadership, and strategic thinking.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to convey complex clinical and business implications.
• Experience managing teams of consultants and interacting with executive-level audiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and review of project deliverables to ensure proper framing of issues and client-ready materials.
• Facilitate client presentations and manage client relationships; support business development and project sales.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, staffing, and development of market access and pricing strategies across care settings.
• Lead primary interviews with payers, KOLs, and stakeholders; design and conduct economic analyses and market research.
• Build Excel-based financial models to evaluate price-access scenarios and inform recommendations.

Job Family:Strategy & Transformation ConsultingTravel Required:Up to 25%Clearance Required:NoneWhat You Will Do:The Value & Access team provides commercialization strategy and market access services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Our client services range from pre-commercialization go-to-market planning to launch value story, pricing, and reimbursement strategies, impacting policies affecting the use and payment of our clients’ novel therapies.You will be responsible for creating and implementing pricing and access strategies for a variety of pharmaceutical assets. This will involve working with senior staff to develop project proposals, managing consulting teams in the development and communication of client deliverables, and maintaining client relationships. Associate Directors oversee multiple projects simultaneously.Common responsibilities and expertise include:· Oversee development and review of project deliverables to ensure proper framing of strategic issues, use of appropriate methods, and materials are up to client standards.· Facilitate client presentations and manage client relationships.· Actively support business development and the project sales cycle.· Manage and develop staff, including performance management of direct reports.· Manage project budgets, timelines, and staffing.· Create corporate- and product-level market access strategies for technologies across multiple stages of the product development cycle.· Design and manage project teams to execute pharmaceutical market access and pricing strategy projects, both qualitative and quantitative, including overseeing development of materials and facilitating discussions as required. Strong market research skills required. Preferred candidates will have experience with various pricing methodologies, including analog assessment, Van Westendorp, Gabor-Granger, and conjoint analysis.· Design and lead primary interviews with key stakeholders such as payers and KOLs.· Apply deep experience with:Part A / hospital inpatient pricing and reimbursement.Part B / medical benefit pricing.Part D / contracting.Gross-to-net calculations.· Build Excel-based financial models to evaluate price-access scenarios and inform pricing recommendations.· Demonstrate strong understanding of health economic methodologies and value pricing constructs.· Construct practice economic analyses under a variety of settings of care and financial ecosystems.· Maintain familiarity with current pricing and access laws and proposed pricing policy.· Demonstrate a track record of thought leadership, written or podium.· Engage with and present to executive-level audiences to deliver actionable insights and recommendations.· Train and develop junior consulting staff.What You Will Need:· Bachelor’s degree; major course of study in science, biomedical engineering, business, or healthcare policy preferred.· 6+ years of transferable consulting or relevant biotechnology/pharmaceutical work experience in market access, reimbursement, pricing, health economics, forecasting, and/or pipeline strategy.· 3+ years of direct experience in client management and content delivery roles.· Demonstrated project management skills, initiative, resourcefulness, leadership, and ability to think strategically and creatively.· Keen attention to detail.· Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate clinical and business implications of technically complex products and services.· Demonstrated track record of managing direct reports and teams of experienced consultants, including managers and consultants.· Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including drug development and launch.· Experience developing, designing, and executing qualitative and quantitative market research.· Strong verbal and written communication skills.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.What Would Be Nice To Have:· Advanced degree preferred, such as MBA, MPH, MS, or PhD.· Preference will be given to candidates located within 50 miles of a Guidehouse office.The annual salary range for this position is $162,000.00-$270,000.00.
