Description

The Associate Director (Licensed) is a licensed clinical professional, responsible for the 24/7 day to day department operations which may include, but is not limited to, overseeing staff and resource management, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, financial management, educational and training program(s), and human resources management to ensure optimal results and high employee engagement within the Mount Sinai Health System’s Clinical Command Center.

The Associate Director ensures that the key departmental components of system throughput, patient transfer center, clinical admitting logistics, telemedicine and inter and intra hospital patient movement, operate according to institutional policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • 1.Provides clinical direction, coordination, interpretation and administration of current and long-range policies, procedures and departmental programs.
  • 2.Assists in establishing and implementing operational strategies and targets to ensure health system goals and objectives are performed successfully.
  • 3.Advises director and other leadership of operational issues related to department activities and recommends solutions as appropriate. Reviews real projects in progress or at completion to ensure program accuracy and readiness.
  • 4.Develops and/or maintains departmental standard operating procedures. Regularly reviews policies and procedures and makes changes or recommends changes to superiors as necessary.
  • 5.Serves as a primary point-of-contact for interdepartmental communications, where applicable, in order to maintain standards, implement improvements, define and measure progress and meet business objectives.
  • 6.Collaborates with interdepartmental senior leadership and/ or Chairman to develop short term and long-range plans.
  • 7.May chair or participate in health system committees.
  • 8.Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, disciplines, and evaluates staff in accordance with all internal policies and procedures. Delegates tasks and responsibilities, and plans, monitors and appraises job performance.
  • 9.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • 10.Provide leadership for staff members in the form of ongoing training, performance feedback, goal setting, and problem resolution
  • 11.Ensures compliance with regulatory, insurance and ethical standards regarding safety of patients, employees and property. Identifies contingency plans for potential risks.
  • 12.Performs other related duties.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, professional licensure required. Masters in Nursing or other relevant/related Master’s field, MPA, MPH, MBA.
Experience Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience (higher preferred) in a professional business environment, with health related, project management and supervisory experience preferred.
Licensing and Certification Requirements
  • Current NYS Nursing, NP, P.A. with relevant clinical licensure required.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $115494 - $173241 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
