Job summary

Purdue University College of Engineering is seeking an Associate Director for Research Development to strengthen the engineering research enterprise through strategic funding initiatives.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean/CRDO, the role focuses on developing and pursuing $10M+ proposals, coordinating across departments, and leveraging AI-enabled tools for opportunity identification and proposal preparation across the ORI team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum four years of research development, grant writing, or federal proposal development experience.
• Experience coordinating cross-disciplinary teams and driving complex proposals.

Responsibilities

• Develop large-scale funding proposals ($10M+) aligned with Purdue Engineering priorities.
• Provide strategic planning support and lead proposal reviews and drafting.
• Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and external partners to identify opportunities and ensure compliance with RFP requirements.
• Lead development of templates and boilerplate language to accelerate future proposals.
