We are seeking an individual to join the Financing Solutions Americas team at Standard Chartered Bank in New York. The successful candidate will partner with senior originators and cross-functional stakeholders to provide strategic financing advisory services to clients across North America and Latin America.

The Associate Director will analyze complex financing opportunities, evaluate capital structure alternatives, assess market conditions, and develop strategic financing recommendations that support clients' business objectives. The role serves as a trusted advisor throughout the transaction lifecycle by providing consultative guidance on financing strategies, transaction structuring, and market opportunities while collaborating closely with internal product partners and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advisory services to clients and internal stakeholders regarding capital structure alternatives, financing strategies, and capital markets solutions.
  • Analyze client financing needs and develop recommendations tailored to their strategic and financial objectives.
  • Evaluate financing alternatives by assessing market conditions, transaction structures, industry trends, and capital market opportunities.
  • Advise transaction teams on optimal financing structures and execution strategies for complex lending and capital markets transactions.
  • Conduct comprehensive market assessments and comparable transaction analyses to support financing recommendations.
  • Develop analytical models and financial evaluations to assess transaction feasibility, financing alternatives, and potential risks.
  • Prepare strategic presentations, financing recommendations, and executive-level materials for clients and senior management.
  • Provide consultative guidance regarding transaction structuring, pricing considerations, syndication strategy, and capital deployment.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners including Risk, Legal, Compliance, Syndicate, and Coverage teams to develop integrated financing solutions.
  • Serve as an advisor to relationship managers and product partners throughout the financing process.
  • Provide strategic recommendations that facilitate informed decision-making across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Support clients throughout financing transactions by offering consultative insight into financing options and evolving market dynamics.
  • Support financing transactions from initial opportunity assessment through execution by providing strategic analysis and advisory input.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient transaction planning and execution.
  • Assist in preparing transaction documentation, client presentations, and financing materials while ensuring consistency with the overall financing strategy.
Day to Day Tasks
  • Evaluate financing opportunities and prepare strategic analyses supporting client recommendations.
  • Develop financial models to compare financing alternatives and assess transaction scenarios.
  • Monitor capital markets and industry developments to identify emerging financing opportunities and market trends.
  • Conduct transaction analysis, industry research, and risk assessments to support financing recommendations.
  • Prepare executive summaries, market updates, and advisory presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate financing structures and recommend solutions aligned with client objectives.
  • Support strategic planning discussions related to financing transactions and capital deployment.
  • Assist in developing client-facing recommendations regarding financing strategies and transaction alternatives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate timely execution while providing ongoing analytical and consultative support.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related field required.
  • MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
  • Strong background in corporate finance, capital markets, structured finance, investment banking.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial transactions and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Experience advising clients or senior stakeholders on financing alternatives and transaction strategies.
  • Strong analytical, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple business functions and manage complex stakeholder relationships.

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 147,000 USD to 210,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package. Discretionary variable pay and a range of attractive bank sponsored benefit programs are available and designed to foster employee overall health and well-being including, but not limited to, a best in class 401k plan with up to 8% employer match, robust medical plan coverage with employer funded Health Savings Accounts, inclusive family building benefits, and flexible/hybrid working arrangements for many of our positions subject to role specific considerations.
