This leadership role is designed for high organizational impact — combining strong analytical rigor, business partnership, and people leadership. The Associate Director will operate as a deputy to the Senior Director of FP&A and a key member of the extended CFO leadership team, driving both execution and forward‑looking strategy.

  • You are a self‑starter who is comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and is able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • You are analytical and detail‑oriented, with a strong ability to interpret complex financial data and develop actionable insights.
  • You enjoy building relationships and partnerships with cross‑functional stakeholders, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • You are a collaborative leader who is able to motivate and develop a team of financial analysts, foster a culture of high standards, and who is willing to go above and beyond to drive growth and innovation in our business.
  • You are passionate about our mission to deliver high‑quality, impactful journalism that informs and inspires our audience.

  • Maintain and improve driver‑based financial models to support revenue and cost planning
  • Identify risks and opportunities, proactively updating forecasts and communicating implications, in collaboration with other FP&A leaders
Strategic Business Partnership
  • Partner with leaders across editorial, product, advertising, and subscription teams to inform decision‑making around our content strategy in News and Opinions
  • Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights that shape business strategy

Performance Management & Reporting
  • Oversee management reporting, variance analysis, and KPI tracking
  • Deliver concise, executive‑ready materials for senior leadership
  • Continuously improve reporting frameworks to enhance clarity and speed

  • Manage and develop a team of FP&A analysts
  • Foster a high‑performance culture focused on ownership, speed, and influence

  • Streamline workflows to increase efficiency and enable faster decision‑making.
  • Embrace AI and automation to help future‑proof core FP&A techniques and processes
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or consulting
  • Prior people management experience required (3+ years)

  • Demonstrated track record of owning planning processes and influencing business decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and develop actionable insights
  • Proven ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Advanced financial modeling and forecasting capabilities
  • Experience with FP&A systems (e.g., Oracle Hyperion, Planful) and data tools (e.g., Tableau)
