AtkinsRéalis is a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy seeking an experienced Environmental Lead in Birmingham to coordinate EIA and related deliverables across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will mentor colleagues, manage client needs, and drive bid opportunities while ensuring high environmental performance and adherence to budget and schedule.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject.
  • Chartered experience and managing major infrastructure projects.
  • Post-graduate experience, ideally in consultancy.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the EIA process and environmental expertise.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the coordination and delivery of environmental work by multi-disciplinary teams (EIA, options appraisals, environmental management).
  • Line managing a team of environmental professionals.
  • Champion high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary projects.
  • Collate and edit information from diverse sources to deliver clear, well-written reports.
  • Undertake own work to a high standard and review others' work on time and budget.
  • Manage clients’ needs in a professional manner.

You will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, spearhead and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related deliverables, work closely with clients, develop new areas of business and mentor colleagues in the team.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in an environmental or related discipline and have a comprehensive understanding of all the technical expertise required for an EIA. Your Role
  • Leading on the coordination and delivery of environmental work being undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams including EIA, options appraisals and environmental management.
  • Line managing a team of environmental professionals.
  • Champion high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary engineering projects, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental outcomes.
  • Collate and edit information from a range of sources to provide clear, well written reports.
  • Competently undertake own work to an excellent standard, and review the work of others, on time and to budget.
  • Able to manage clients’ needs in a skilled, professional manner.
  • Lead and support on bid preparation and develop new areas of business for the team.
  • Undertake Continual Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with requirements of chosen professional institute.
About you
  • Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject.

  • Relevant post-graduate experience (ideally within a consultancy environment).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the EIA process and environmental technical expertise.
  • Experience of leadership within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively.
  • Be flexible, adaptable and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other AtkinsRéalis or client office locations.
  • Be highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes.
