Job summary

Ball State University’s Office of Community Engagement seeks an Associate Director to lead the E. B. and Bertha C. Ball Center. The role directs operations, implements a results-driven strategic plan, and expands lifetime learning enrollments through partnerships and outreach.

The position requires on-campus presence, strong leadership, budgeting, and program development skills, with a focus on community engagement and educational programming for diverse adult learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Master's degree preferred; five or more years in educational programming or event marketing/coordination.
• Experience in leadership, staff management, and community outreach.
• Experience with educational programming and support services for adult audiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct the overall operations of the Ball Center.
• Develop and implement strategic plan to increase lifetime learning enrollments.
• Plan and implement cultural enrichment and personal development offerings.
• Expand the Center's reach by scheduling professional development and partnerships.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan.
• Promote the Center’s space for hosting university or community events.
• Oversee preservation and maintenance of physical spaces.
• Set and monitor annual goals with university and external partners.
• Direct accounting and financial operations, budgets, and reporting.
• Oversee the Center’s registration system and e-commerce services.
• Direct the Town and Gown Conversations Program.
• Direct the annual Holiday Open House; coordinate volunteers and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
