  • Generous time off policy
  • Opportunity to broaden your horizons by attending popular conferences
  • Emphasis on work/life balance
  • Collaborative and team-oriented environment
  • Making a positive impact to help ultra-rare disease patients who are in need of life saving treatments

The Associate Director, Commercial Insights & Analytics (Immunology) will serve as a strategic insights partner to the Immunology business, translating primary market research, secondary analytics, competitive intelligence, and commercial performance data into an integrated understanding of the market, customers, competitors and key drivers of brand performance. The role will identify the highest value business questions, design fit-for-purpose research and analytic approaches, synthesize evidence across sources and deliver clear recommendations that shape brand strategy, business planning and resource decisions. Key responsibilities include: independently scoping and leading market research, developing comprehensive performance narratives for leadership, informing data strategy in collaboration with the Commercial Data team, performing ad-hoc analyses against raw data, and designing improvements to dashboards.

The role will report to the Director, Commercial Insights & Analytics as part of the Strategic Capabilities & Operations (SCO) team for North America, and will partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Finance, Medical and Commercial Data Management. The SCO team is focused on ensuring we elevate the experience for our customers internally and externally through integration across sales, marketing, and market access. The Commercial Insights & Analytics team is responsible for performance reporting, competitive intelligence, and forecasting across all brands/therapeutic areas in North America.

Please note this is a hybrid remote position with occasional travel. While other candidates will be considered, the preferred candidate will live in the Boston area, coming into the Waltham office 1-2 days per week and working remotely otherwise.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a strategic thought partner to Immunology leadership and cross-functional teams, framing critical business questions and translating evidence into clear strategic choices, recommendations, and implications

Independently scope, design, and lead qualitative and quantitative primary market research, including ATUs, message and concept testing, customer journey research, segmentation, opportunity assessments, and other fit-for-purpose studies

Build strong partnerships across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Finance, Medical, and other functions to incorporate diverse perspectives while maintaining an objective, enterprise-wide view of the business

Synthesize disparate evidence into compelling market and performance narratives that explain what is happening, why it matters, what may happen next, and what actions leadership should consider

Define and evolve KPI frameworks and performance measurement approaches that connect commercial activity to strategic objectives and enable leadership to distinguish leading indicators from outcomes

Produce regular reports, presentations, and executive summaries to communicate findings, recommendations, and implications for the organization

Proactively monitor the competitive landscape; assess potential implications of market events and competitor actions; and incorporate competitive intelligence into situational assessments and planning

Partner with Commercial Data Management and data operations teams to shape data strategy, data mart requirements and reporting capabilities

Conduct ad hoc analyses using raw and transformed datasets to test hypotheses, investigate performance drivers, and address urgent strategic questions.

Review and update HCP and Account segmentation to ensure field alignment with market and strategy dynamics

Generate forward-looking insights for brand planning, long-range planning, budget and forecast cycles, opportunity assessments, and other strategic decisions; conduct scenario analyses where useful to clarify opportunities, risks, and assumptions

7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech commercial insights, market research, analytics, strategy, or consulting

Demonstrated hands‑on experience independently leading primary market research, including both qualitative and quantitative approaches, from business-question definition through methodology, vendor management, synthesis, and recommendation development

Ability to triangulate primary research, secondary analytics, competitive intelligence and stakeholder input into an integrated and objective point of view

2+ years working with pharmaceutical commercial datasets such as claims, DDD, and 867/852 data; familiarity with CRM, sales, market access and syndicated data is strongly valued

Proficiency with SQL and/or Python for data analysis and comfort accessing and interrogating data across multiple platforms; experience with Tableau or a similar BI tool

Strong analytical reasoning, intellectual curiosity, strategic agility, and creativity in solving ambiguous business problems, including situations where standard frameworks may not exist

Experience with forecasting, scenario analysis, segmentation, competitive intelligence or strategic planning in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is preferred

Interest in developing knowledge of commercial functions to expand and develop business acumen
